We are loving having a West Elm on King Street in Charleston!  We shopped there earlier in the week and its a great place to pick up accessories.

Let’s play “What’s the Cost of Getting the Look?” featuring

What do you think it costs to get this look?

You will need;

Side chair

4 pillow covers and 4 pillow inserts

1 set of gallery frames

accessories: vase, plant. books, birch logs for fireplace

We are often asked, how much will it cost to furnish my house? Many factors are taken into consideration such as the size and location of your home when determining the answer.  The almighty GOOGLE told us that the answer was, “Plan on spending 25% of your homes value.” This fact suggests  that a home worth $650,000 would cost $162,500 to furnish if you were starting from scratch.

  Let’s break it down one room at a time.  Think about it in terms of price per square foot and the level of furnishings you desire.

Level 1: $25/sq foot

Level 2: $50/sq foot

Level 3: $75/sq foot

For example, a living room in a home is 15 x17 or (255 square feet) so that would mean the owners could spend anywhere from $6,375- $19,125 to decorate it.

So take a Guess at what it would cost to “Get the Look” !

As your designer friends, we’d like to remind you that you still need window treatments, an electrician and a painter! And we certainly hope you have a hottie handyman to help unbox and assemble!

Thanks for playing along!
