home design

This is the first of a series of posts about how we work with clients who are not in the Charleston Area.  Just because because we are in the “843” doesn’t mean we cant work with you!

Our client reached out to us on November of 2014 and we measured and started to document what was staying and what was going from her beautiful home on the South Shore of Massachusetts.  Our clients were suffering from a little case of Design Paralysis and in some desperate need of Embellish Girl Magic! The task will be large for us but extremely exciting. So keep on scrolling because we’re showing you a little peak of the following rooms before the Embellish girls take over:

The Great Room included a large sectional and not much else going on…

Don’t worry, that’s all about to change!

Out client requested that they wanted this sun-room to have more of an “adult seating” area.

As for the dining room area, the client’s requested that they wanted a  grown up and more glamorous space that will seat more guests for the holidays…

In the office (which is the first room when you enter the home) their request was for more office/desk work space for the whole family.

One Room Challenge Part VI: The Finale

by Nicki on May 7, 2015

The One Room Challenge is complete! This has been a fun experience and we’d like to first start off with thanking Linda from Calling it Home for letting us participate!

Our clients wrote this great note about the end result of their dining room: “We absolutely love our new and improved dining room, and the whole house! But what we love most is Nicki and Teresa’s awareness of our art, and the sensitivity to make it the backbone of the design. In doing so, we feel that they have made our house a work of art.”

We are always excited about the pictures so here they are..

We styled the table with some of the clients things and then some goodies of our own such as a Fiddle Leaf Fig to the space!

And did you notice how well the table turned out??

We were able to find a fabulous mirror locally at GDC Home. Whew-hoo!

Through this journey we had some bumps in the road (which we new would happen) ,but we would not change one thing about this experience. It has been an amazing transformation for our client’s home.

Thanks to everyone for keeping up with our amazing journey through the One Room Challenge!

Until next time!

One Room Challenge Part V

by Nicki on April 30, 2015

Remember what this space started out to be?

orc 003

Well, it’s definitely looking better-wouldn’t you say?!

This week, the chairs have arrived and they are done in KRAVET DENMAN CLAY  and CRYPTON SKY LINEN FABRIC. Still missing the table though!  Hopefully it will be here for the reveal next week…fingers crossed!

We began to hang some of our clients art work, but we’re puzzled  on whether we should move the buffet to the back wall as well as how we will style the buffet in the end.

Looking also for a mirror to use on the walls of the dining room like this one The Parsons Round Mirror Bone Inlay from WEST ELM.

And oh yes, we’re still waiting on the table to be finished.

Will the table get here in time? What will it look like?

So much to do in so little time!  Tune in next Thursday at 7 P.M. to see what we accomplish this week in our One Room Challenge!

One Room Challenge Part IV: Making Progress

by Nicki on April 23, 2015

Welcome back everyone!

We are finally making progress! This week (as you can see in the picture below) we’re having a bit more help- the installer and seamstress are working hard in this dining room area to create our vision.  We chose the Lacefield Designs Malta Apricot for the window curtains and we sore so excited with this decision for the room.

Oh boy does Cathy love to tell a good story! (We love you Cathy!)

orc 017

Jay is getting the job done!   Why is it that we always have the bum shot of the installers??

orc 020

The Esplanade Buffet from Stanley Furniture has finally arrived! Along with this amazing Linking Loops Rug from West Elm…one word, fabulous!!

It’s all coming together and we cannot be more excited! Tune in next Thursday at 7 P.M. to see what we accomplish this week in our One Room Challenge
